Conditions of long-term residence visa in Thailand

Recently, the Thai government issued a "LTR (Long-$ TERM Resident) visa" for foreigners to apply for a long-term residence visa in Thailand, and announced that the plan will be officially implemented on September 1. The introduction of long-term residence visa aims to enhance the willingness of foreigners who can work remotely and have higher incomes to stay in Thailand for a long time by providing a series of preferential policies and simplifying the application process, thus enhancing Thailand's attractiveness as the preferred destination for "high potential" investment in Southeast Asia.

As the department responsible for the implementation and approval of LTR visas, BOI introduced the target groups of such visas, including global elites (with personal assets of at least US$ 6.5438+0 million), high-net-worth retirees (retirees aged 50 and above enjoying stable and generous pensions or incomes), professionals in Thailand (telecommuters of well-known overseas enterprises) and high-tech talents (commercial entities and advanced institutions in Thailand).

These four types of foreigners can apply to BOI for a long-term residence visa in Thailand, which will make it more convenient for them to stay, buy a house, work and make business investments in Thailand. In addition, spouses and children under the age of 20 of long-term residence visa holders (each holder is allowed to bring four family members) will also be eligible to stay.
