Will China's identity card be cancelled after immigration?
Regulations on the Administration of Resident Identity Cards (for Trial Implementation)
Article 36 A citizen of China who has settled outside the country (territory) shall report the cancellation of his/her household registration to the local police station, and return his/her identity card with the relevant documents and certificates issued by the country (region) where he/she lives, as well as the corresponding translations of the above-mentioned foreign documents and certificates.
If I have acquired foreign nationality and automatically lost my China nationality, I shall report the cancellation of my account to the local police station with a valid foreign passport, a Chinese visa issued by a qualified institution and the corresponding translation of the above foreign passport, and return my ID card.
If a citizen withdraws from China nationality upon approval, he/she shall report the cancellation of his/her account to the local police station with the certificate of withdrawal and return his/her identity card.
