Please tell me what students need to pay attention to during the party interview
I have ten-year multiple visas in hand, and I want to give back to everyone~
Basic situation: I am studying as a graduate student, and I am going to Brazil for a meeting. I bought a transit visa from the United States on July 11, 2016. I bought the air ticket (because it’s cheap!!! It’s 4,000 RMB cheaper than transferring from Europe or Dubai), then I started reading the guide, and made an appointment for the interview at Anjialou on Tuesday, July 26th at 1:15 pm.
Things that frightened me the day before the interview:
1. My undergraduate major is biology, and biology and chemistry are often checked. "Do you have any specialized skills or training, such as firearms, explosives, nuclear, biologcal or chemical experience?" If I choose NO, will it be considered a lie? Biological experiments and chemical experiments for studying biology are definitely inevitable.
2. My payer is myself, but will Americans think I am lying? It is obvious that Chinese students are paid by their parents and I did not fill in my work experience.
3. I bought a round-trip air ticket, but when filling out my plan to stay in the United States, I only filled in the outbound flight. Will VO only give me one entry opportunity or change the B2 I applied for to transit? Sign C1?
The situation when arriving at the Embassy in Anjialou, Beijing:
There was an event that I couldn't get away from that morning. I was in such a hurry that I didn't even eat anything and took a taxi there. I finally arrived at the embassy at 13 o'clock. There is a tourist information service center at the south intersection, and there is a cafe next to it, and next to it there is a room with a red sign saying "Air Tickets and Visas". It only costs 20 to store bags inside, and you can print them. I sat there when I picked up my bags. After resting for a while, I felt it was better than the row of storage rooms that were about to be demolished slightly to the north of the embassy.
When I left the bag storage room, I saw a bunch of people queuing up. I queued directly to the end of the queue and waited, thinking that no wonder I had to come half an hour early. At this time, the vendor lady hanging around saw that I was new here and asked me what time it was. I said 1:15! The aunt was super kind and told me not to wait in line, but to go directly to the front and tell the armed police that you don’t have to wait in line! I looked up and saw the time sign in front of the queue. The earliest one was 13:30, so I sneaked from the inside of the queue to the front and showed my reservation slip (it said 13:15), and the guy let me go. We lined up behind the queue closest to the embassy (the entire queue outside the embassy was divided into two sections, but the section near the embassy entrance was a single team, and the latter section was composed of multiple teams). A big brother in front thought that I was at 13:00 and advised me: "You can go further, there was a girl who was interviewed at 13:00 and had already entered the embassy." I thought that I had jumped in line, as long as I arrived at 13:45 As long as you can enter the embassy in advance~ It’s not in a hurry, so just wait in line. I waited in line for about 10 minutes (both my phone and watch were saved). During this period, people rushed to the front of the queue from time to time, either for appointments at 13 o'clock or to replenish materials, but not many, about 5.
When you enter the embassy, ??the staff will put a stamp on your passport. This sign should be in chronological order. When I was waiting in line to have my fingerprints taken, several people standing in front of me had made appointments for 13:30, but I was called first to have their fingerprints taken.
Follow the instructions of the staff, queue up and finally arrive at the interview officer’s window. No. 9 is a young Caucasian girl with no expression; No. 10 is a handsome blond guy who can look at people and talk and smiles all the time; No. 11 is an Asian uncle who is unsmiling and looks a little tired. ==). I was assigned to window number 9. I became nervous when I saw that one of the guys in front of me had brought his diploma, so I brought my passport, DS160 confirmation form, invitation letter to the Brazilian conference, proof of study status, and flight reservation form. A few thin pieces of paper, light and weightless in the hand.
But there is an old saying in China: It’s time to come!
VO: Go to the United States to have sex?
Me: Turn around! Shopping!
VO: Where is the destination?
Me: Brazil!
VO: U study in XXX University?
Me: YES!
VO: what to do in Brazil?
Me: to participate in the convention
VO: what convention?
Me: Can I read it? It's too long to remember.
VO: OK
Me: (take out the invitation letter and start reading) xxxxxxx
VO: xxxxx University?
I didn’t hear clearly at the beginning, it seemed like I was asking about my department, and I was stunned. When I was about to answer, VO asked another question. I was a little confused. What did you say again? VO didn't bother to wait for me to recover from the short-circuit state, and went straight to Chinese: "Professional?"
I said it in English according to the certificate of study. Because I was a little panicked, I spoke very slowly, almost every syllable. Dayton. As soon as he finished speaking, VO said congratulations u r approved. Obviously you don't want to quarrel with me anymore.
Holding the light blue piece of paper, I grinned and swaggered through the crowd: -D
Summary: 1. You are not allowed to bring anything with a battery, including watches and mobile phones. Remember to save them all. It is impossible to show photos to VO with your mobile phone.
2. I don’t think it’s necessary to bring a photo of your head, as long as you have an electronic version.
3. I arrived at the embassy around 1:05 and started queuing (well, I jumped in front of the queue for a while. Thanks again to my friends who were there for their support!), and when I came out, it was just 2 Click, the interview will only take 1 or 2 minutes.
4. Compared with Brazil, which requires a large pile of materials to apply for a visa, a U.S. visa is easy just by filling out a form and adding several certificates that are used for other visas. Now that South American visas are gradually relaxing, it is said that Argentina will soon be visa-free? Wouldn't it be a shortcut to apply for a visa by taking advantage of the opportunity to transit from the United States instead of traveling to Europe specifically to change your status?
5. The visa interview will be held on Tuesday afternoon, and the status will change to ISSUED on Wednesday. , I received an email on Friday morning saying that it had been sent to a CITIC branch (I filled in a CITIC bank in Haidian District). So now I am holding my visa happily! And there are two stars without spaces under my photo. I checked and it is said that they are a mark to prevent counterfeiting and avoid duplication, not to indicate immigration tendency. A junior sister from the same department and I both just applied for visas (our places of origin are also very close), and hers just has a space between the two stars, so I don’t think it’s reliable as a sign of immigration tendency.
I wish you all to get your US visa as soon as possible~
