Korean general immigrant visa code

Korean embassies and consulates abroad issue three kinds of visas according to the purpose of the applicant's visit to Korea: tourist visa, transit visa and residence visa.

Tourist visas are short-term visas for foreign tourists, with a maximum stay of 90 days; Transit visa is a visa for foreigners to pass through Korea and stay in Korea for no more than 45 days when going to a third country or returning to their home country; Residence visas are for those who stay in Korea for more than 90 days. Long-term visa holders must also obtain the entry permit from the Ministry of Justice and apply for a residence permit at the local "residence jurisdiction office" within 90 days after entry. To apply for a residence permit, you need to submit your passport, photos and fill out a residence application form.
