Where is Baihetan Hydropower Station?

Baihetan Hydropower Station is located in ningnan county, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. This is the second cascade hydropower station developed in the lower reaches of Jinsha River. It has comprehensive benefits such as power generation, flood control, sand blocking, improving downstream shipping conditions and developing shipping in the reservoir area.

Baihetan Hydropower Station is a first-class large-scale project. The hub project consists of barrage, flood discharge and energy dissipation facilities, water diversion and power generation system and other major buildings. The barrage is a concrete hyperbolic arch dam with a crest elevation of 834m, a maximum dam height of 289m, a vault thickness of 14.0m, and a maximum arch end thickness of 83.9 1m, including an enlarged foundation with a maximum thickness of 95m, and the concrete pouring volume is about 803. . The arch at the top of the dam is about 209.0m long and is divided into 30 transverse joints and ***3 1 dam section. Concrete cushion seats shall be set at the elevation above 750.0m, enlarged foundations shall be set at the bottom of dam sections 4 # ~ 25 #, and no longitudinal joints shall be set for the dam. The dam consists of plunge pool and Erdaoba, and the flood discharge facilities include 6 surface holes, 7 deep holes and 3 flood discharge tunnels on the left bank of the dam. The underground powerhouse is symmetrically arranged on the left and right banks, and the tailrace system consists of two units and a tailrace tunnel. There are four tailrace tunnels on the left bank and the right bank, three of which are combined with the left bank diversion tunnel and two with the right bank diversion tunnel.

The installed capacity of Baihetan Hydropower Station is 14000MW, the guaranteed output is 5500MW, and the average power generation for many years is 64.095 billion kW h, including 30.265 billion kW h in dry season (12 ~ May). It is the backbone project of Jinsha River hydropower development, and it is another 10 million kilowatt giant hydropower project after Three Gorges Hydropower Station and Xiluodu Hydropower Station.
