How does the US Navy intend to resettle illegal immigrants?

According to American media reports on June 23, an American official said that if the Department of Homeland Security asks for help, the navy is prepared to build a large number of detention centers at military bases to detain tens of thousands of people who were arrested on the southern border of the United States and tried to illegally cross the border into the United States.

The official confirmed that the Navy had submitted a memorandum to Minister Spencer, listing bases in remote areas of California, Arizona and Alabama, which were used to set up tents and detain illegal immigrants and adults.

According to reports, the US Navy's memorandum said that the Navy has the potential to accept 47,000 illegal immigrants at two bases in California, one near San Francisco and the other in Southern California. The memorandum also said that a base near Mobile, Alabama can hold 25,000 illegal immigrants, and the Marine Corps base near Yuma, Arizona can set up tents to hold an unknown number of illegal immigrants.

Colonel Davis, a Pentagon spokesman, said that the Department of Defense is planning ahead in the United States to help provide accommodation for adult illegal immigrants at the request of the Department of Homeland Security. He also said: "So far, the Department of Homeland Security has not asked the Department of Defense to help accommodate illegal immigrants."
