A mocking Germany-Schoenberg and His Serenade Op. 24

"Satire" is the concept of text criticism of early romanticism in Germany. Since it was put forward by Laegel, Heine and others, it has had a far-reaching influence on German ideological circles, which is reflected in the works of thomas mann, Mahler, Richard Strauss and Schoenberg.

Schoenberg's expressionism and twelve-tone compositions have long been known, but few people have studied his serenade. This work not only stays in the neoclassical tendency reflected by Schoenberg's self-mockery of "Little Modern Skiing", but also reflects the composer's cultural orientation of reviewing the past (tradition of Vienna serenade), focusing on the present (neoclassicism) and looking forward to the future with a mocking attitude.

The theme of this lecture is the extension and continuation of German modernism, which is one of Professor Verleger's main works and helps us to understand the whole picture of Schoenberg's artistic thought.
