The ups and downs of population growth can be seen from these two pictures. It is obvious that with the rapid growth of the population of the United States from 1800 to 1990, the number of wildlife species that no longer exist has soared in the same period. Naturally, we can draw the conclusion that the sharp decline of wildlife species is caused by population growth. Two reasons can explain this phenomenon. First of all, with the growth of population, people consume more natural resources, which often leads to excessive hunting. Second, with the increase of human activities, modern people occupy more and more space. This has a great influence on other species. Finally, with the development of modern industry, the pollution problem has become more and more serious. More and more animals have to adapt to the declining environment or move to a completely different place, but not all animals are lucky enough to survive these changes. To solve this problem, we need the government to control population growth, reduce industrial pollution, and strengthen laws prohibiting hunting of wild animals. In addition, ordinary citizens should be aware of this ecological crisis and assume the responsibility of protecting wild animals. In a word, only when the government and people work together can we hope to find a satisfactory solution to this problem.
