The Development and Changes of Dakas Nationality

It is said that some Dokas members moved to Nanzhuang and later became Xia Sai. However, it is not recorded in the literature. In the ninth year of Xianfeng, someone really moved to Yilan. Two years later, the new immigrant was abducted by the Han people in the form of barter, lost his competitive strength and had to return to his former residence. However, on his return trip, he met a community like Da Jiaxi Society that wanted to move to Puli, and they followed.

In the late Qing Dynasty and later Japanese occupation period, all tribes in Docas were collectively called "Xingang Eleventh Society" or "Zhu Qian Eleventh Society". Its main settlements can be roughly divided into three groups:

1. Collapse Mountain Group: The "Eight Collapse Mountain Societies" or "Eight Pengshan Societies" mentioned in the old records mainly include Dajiadong Society, Dajiaxi Society (Dehua Society), Rinan Society, Nippon Society, Shuangliao Society, Maoyu Society (Xinglong Society), Fangli Society, Yuanli Society and Tunxiao Society. During the Daoguang period (1823─ 183 1), the Shuangliao, Rinan, Ribei, Fangli, Tunxiao and Yuanjia of this group joined the joint relocation of five Pingpu ethnic groups in the central and western regions, and almost all of them moved to Puli.

2. Houlong Group: Houlong Four Societies mainly include Houlong Society, Xingang Society, China-Hong Kong Society, Jiazhige Society and Li Maoshe (Li Maoshe now belongs to miaoli city, and later together with Jiazhige Society is called Mao Ge Society).

3. Zhu Qian Group: mainly the Zhu Qian society and dazzling society recorded in the literature in the early Qing Dynasty.
