Social influence of French flag
France's tricolor flag represents the beginning of a new revolutionary movement. Under its influence, many countries including Belgium, Chad, Ireland, Italy, Mexico and Romania have adopted flags similar to the French tricolor flag. In some parts of Canada, such as New Brunswick, Acadians and immigrants from France, flags based on French tricolor flags are used.
The most famous example is the green, white and red flags designed by Napoleon for Italy.
Difference: Slavic color
However, in continental Europe, red, white and blue are the most commonly used colors in the national flag, especially in Central and Eastern European countries. This is because red, white and blue are also colors representing Slavic people. Therefore, the main ethnic groups belong to pan-Slavic countries, such as Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and other countries, and their national flags are mainly red, white and blue. The difference between them is only the arrangement of color blocks, and some only add different national emblems at the bottom of the same tricolor flag. Historically, these nation-states have united and split several times, and their national flags have changed accordingly.
Russia's national flag is rectangular, consisting of three parallel and equal rectangles, and the colors are white, blue and red from top to bottom.
The Czech flag is the same as that of Russia, but it is arranged in this way. The triangle near the flagpole is blue, the top right of the flag is white, and the bottom is red. Czechs and Slovaks belong to Slavic nations. The hometown of Czechs is the ancient Bohemian kingdom. The colors of this kingdom are red and white, while blue comes from the colors of the original badges of Moravia and Slovakia. After the drastic changes in Eastern Europe, 1993, the Czech Republic and Slovakia formally separated and established their own independent sovereign entities. The Czech Republic continues to use the original tricolor flag as its national flag. Slovakia uses a rectangular flag with white, blue and red colors from top to bottom.
