Do you need to apply for a visa at the embassy or consulate?
Both embassies and consulates can apply for visas, but the scope of processing is different and depends on the standing rights of the consulate. An embassy is a permanent diplomatic representative institution stationed in the capital of a country that has diplomatic relations with it, while consulates are only set up in major cities in the host country and in places with a large number of expatriates and consular work. The scope of responsibilities of the embassy covers all regions of the country where it is stationed, while the consulate is only responsible for the area under its jurisdiction. Many countries only have embassies and no consulates in most countries.
1. There are generally three ways for Chinese citizens to apply for foreign visas:
(1) Apply directly to the foreign embassy or consulate in China;
( 2) Entrust the visa office of China Travel Service to apply for the visa (generally only tourist visas);
(3) Foreign relatives and friends apply directly to the country’s immigration bureau for a visa.
2. Go to the embassy for a visa. During the interview, you need to pay attention to the following:
1. You and your sponsor have enough money to pay for your study abroad.
2. The only purpose of going to your country is to study, study and study again, nothing else.
3. Tell him honestly why you chose to return to your country after graduation (this is the most important, this is usually the reason why visas are refused)
