Cultural Relics Landscape in Three Gorges Reservoir Area

In addition, four or five cultural relics are being declared as the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

According to the above different cultural relics and their different locations, experts put forward different protection measures. For underground cultural relics, archaeological exploration should be continued, so as to further grasp all kinds of details of underground cultural relics and lay the foundation for future archaeological excavation.

The protection of ground cultural relics is mainly divided into three categories: one is in-situ protection. For example, the inscriptions on Baiheliang in low water, Shi Baozhai in Zhongxian County and Baidicheng. The second category is relocation protection. For example, Zhangfei Temple, Quyuan Temple, Qiu Feng Pavilion and Dachang will be relocated as a whole. A large number of stone carvings, inscriptions, grottoes, statues, etc. You can chisel and move. The third category is to get all the information. For some immovable cultural relics, collect all the data to provide the original basis for future research.

It is also the unshirkable responsibility of the construction department to rescue and protect precious cultural relics, and the relevant funds will be charged in the project budget. First, make every effort to ensure that the funds for the protection of cultural relics in the Three Gorges are in place in time; Second, when signing the construction contract, add cultural relics protection clauses to educate all the Three Gorges construction workers to establish cultural relics protection awareness; Third, the environmental protection of cultural relics should be considered in engineering arrangement, resettlement development and new town construction. The state approved a static investment of 350 million yuan for the excavation and protection of cultural relics in the Three Gorges reservoir area.

According to the plan, from 1995 to 2000, about 70% of the workload will be completed, with emphasis on the protection of cultural relics at an altitude of 155 meters; From 200/kloc-0 to 2005, the protection of cultural relics in the flooded area of the Three Gorges was completed as planned.

Then, what will the natural landscape of the Three Gorges area look like after the completion of the Three Gorges Dam? When the water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir rises to an altitude of 145 to 175 meters, some scenic spots will inevitably be submerged, but overall, the impact on the scenery of the Three Gorges area is limited. First, in April 4- 10/0 every year, due to flood control, the water level in front of the dam will drop to 145 meters, which will hardly affect the scenery of the Three Gorges. And this time is the peak of tourism. Second, the heights of the peaks on both sides of the Three Gorges are mostly between 1 1,000m and 1 1,500m. Even if the water level rises by 30 to 80 meters, the sense of narrow valley is slightly weakened, especially in the high gorge, the scenery is still magnificent.
