Zheng Chenggong's purpose of recovering Taiwan Province

Zheng's successful recovery of Taiwan Province's military struggle was a successful attempt by the Chinese nation against foreign aggression. He moved his base camp to Taiwan Province, which made the anti-Qing morale collapse and declared the end of the anti-Qing cause. At that time, the adherents of the Ming Dynasty were quite unsympathetic to Zheng Chenggong. Zhang Huangyan said that a successful move "is neither wise to live nor loyal to die". Qian Qianyi, Zheng Chenggong's teacher, also expressed regret over his poems.

As for the Dutch East India Company, after losing the stronghold of Daguan, the trade route of "Southeast Asia-Daguan (re-export to China)-Nagasaki (Japan)" was interrupted, and the trade volume with China also drastically decreased, resulting in great losses. The Dutch East India Company tried to restore this route several times, so it joined forces with the Qing court to attack Zheng.
