What do you mean by "in an immigration prison"?
1. Meaning
One refers to the time you have to live in another country in order to retain your immigration status.
The other refers to the time you have to live in order to become a citizen. Immigration prisons are often nicknamed "immigrant prisoners". In fact, an immigration prison is not a prison, and sitting in an immigration prison does not put you in prison. It is only because it restricts the freedom of immigrants to a certain extent that it is called this name.
2. National restrictions
(1) Canadian Immigration Supervision Bureau
Canada requires permanent residents (maple leaf card holders, equivalent to American green cards) to live for two years within five years after obtaining an immigrant visa to retain their permanent resident status. If a person successfully applies for permanent residence, but spends most of his time outside Canada, the Canadian government will think that this person does not really want to immigrate, so it is very reasonable to cancel his permanent residence status. From the moment you get a visa in China, it is not a general non-immigrant visa, such as a student visa, but an immigrant visa. And it doesn't mean that you can't come back if you stay in Canada, but you can't leave Canada most of the time.
Canada requires permanent residents to apply for naturalization within four years from the date of application, including living in Canada for three years. This actually makes sense: if a permanent resident spends less than 70% of his time in Canada, it is obviously doubtful whether he really wants to become a Canadian. If you have just left Canada for a year and a half, wait two or three years before applying for naturalization.
② Australian immigration supervisor
The conditions in Australia are relatively clear. To become an Australian citizen, you must live for two years within five years. If you can't meet them, you must meet one of the following two conditions to keep your immigration status:
1. Prove that you have the necessary economic, cultural and employment relationship with Australia, and this relationship is beneficial to Australia; (What we call investment immigration).
2. One of the family members holds a valid re-entry visa. To become a citizen, you must meet the residence requirements.
3. Summary: Have lived in Australia legally for 4 years, including one year as a permanent resident.
③ American immigration supervisor
Simply put, if you have an American green card (equivalent to a Canadian maple leaf card), you must land in the United States every 180 days, and you can apply for American citizenship after living in the United States for three years within five years, that is, you can cancel immigration supervision.
④ British immigration supervisor
After immigrating to the UK for five years, applicants can apply to become British citizens as long as they meet certain residence requirements, that is, they must not stay outside the UK for more than 450 days during the second to fifth years. After becoming a British citizen, the departure time is no longer restricted. At the same time, Britain allows dual citizenship. Therefore, it is suggested that immigrant applicants can also take the basic English exam for naturalization at any time within five years, and pass the exam to become British citizens after living for six years.
⑤ Singapore immigration supervisor
Singapore has no immigration regulatory requirements. Formally speaking, it is much easier for Singapore to invest in immigration than the United States, Canada and other countries. As long as the materials are prepared and submitted to the Singapore Immigration Bureau for review, those who pass the materials can go to Singapore for an interview. There are no immigration supervisors in Singapore. After successful immigration, the residence requirements are very relaxed and there is no need to live in Singapore for a certain number of years. This is also an important reason why many China investors choose to invest in Singapore.
