Introduction to the application process of studying abroad visa in Singapore

Students studying in Singapore need to apply for a study visa according to standard procedures, so as not to delay time and enter the school smoothly. Let's take a look at the application process of studying abroad visa in Singapore.

Student visa processing

If the embassy wants the applicant to go to the Singapore Embassy in China for an interview (the school will convey the specific date and interview guidance notified by the embassy in advance), please bring the original of the following documents:

Singapore study abroad plan, ID card and household registration book, diploma/degree certificate (if any) or proof of studying, report card or achievement certificate, my marriage certificate (if married), bank passbook, deposit certificate (including notarized deposit slip and other family deposit slip) and salary table of my parents and myself (if I have a job) (if my salary is paid by the bank for three months before the interview, I need to provide a passbook). The attached work status form shall be filled in by the parent's unit and brought during the interview. For on-the-job candidates, please make a copy of your work status and bring it with you during the interview.

Interviews are usually asked in Chinese, occasionally in English or dialects. It is mainly to verify whether the information provided is true, whether the purpose of study is correct, whether the study plan is feasible, whether you know Singapore's countries and schools, whether the family's economic ability can support it, and observe the students' manners.

About one month after the interview, after receiving the original approval from the Immigration Bureau, the school will immediately send tuition reminders to the overseas institutions or students' families. After receiving the remittance, the school will immediately send the approval to overseas institutions or students' families.

At that time, students themselves can bring the original school admission notice, the original transfer office approval, a China passport valid for at least 6 months and a cash guarantee of 25,000 yuan to the embassy to apply for a visa in person, read and sign the legal provisions stipulated in a letter of guarantee in detail.

Entry visas will be issued four weeks before the start date stipulated by the school. Visa fee 100 RMB is required. Generally, the exit validity period for new arrivals is three months (subject to the visa). Remind students to take the initiative to ask for the notarized information when applying for a visa at the embassy and bring it to Singapore.

When applying for a visa at the embassy, the applicant will get an intermediary bill (in duplicate) from the Bank of China. The applicant shall pay a deposit of 25,000 yuan (cash) to the designated bank in China with the intermediary bill and deposit it in the account designated by the embassy. Then the applicant will submit the bank receipt (seal) and the application form for intermediary bill back to the embassy and get the visa on the third day.

After students are admitted to government schools or employed in Singapore, transferred to a third country or returned to China (provided that they do not violate any laws and regulations stipulated in the letter of guarantee), students will personally withdraw cash from designated banks. The embassy will only issue cheques in the name of the applicant, and the embassy will not accept the power of attorney in the name of others unless the applicant personally presents the power of attorney to the embassy when submitting the visa application. In the future, the client can come to the embassy with a copy of this power of attorney and my ID card to collect the cheque with the client's name on it and withdraw it from the bank.

Applicants should note that applicants must submit visa cards or relevant permits to the Singapore Immigration Bureau after entering government schools or before leaving the country, so that the authorities can authorize the embassy to refund the deposit as soon as possible. Otherwise, the embassy must write to the Singapore Immigration Bureau separately, and it will take 3 months or more to get the deposit back.

If the deposit receipt is lost due to negligence, a certificate from the notary office or the public security bureau is required. If the applicant is unable to travel to Singapore for some reason, he/she needs to show his/her passport, return his/her visa card and submit a written explanation letter when applying for refund of the deposit.

Accompanying visa processing

1. Prepare relevant materials (to be listed later).

2. Fill in and submit the application materials online with the guarantor's Singpass.

3. Submit all materials to the Singapore Immigration Bureau, and the guarantor and the applicant need to be present.

As the Immigration Department may require an interview, both the applicant and the sponsor need to be present at that time. Applicants are advised to stay in Singapore when applying for accompanying reading permission, and ensure that the guarantor is also in Singapore.

5. While waiting for the approval of Singapore Immigration Bureau, the applicant can go to the local hospital for physical examination and get the physical examination report.

6. After the application is approved, the Immigration Bureau will issue an IPA letter, which is valid for two months. The applicant can use this letter to go to the Immigration Bureau to obtain the attached reading permission.

7. Prepare relevant materials (which will be listed later) and make an appointment to get the documents online. It is recommended that the guarantor accompany the applicant to collect it.

Precautions:

1. Parents must hold a tourist visa and buy a round-trip air ticket when entering the country.

2. It is necessary to bring all the original notarial certificates submitted and the contract signed with the school (if any) to accompany the students, and sometimes the school needs to provide them. The original text does not need to be mailed, just bring all the materials with you when you enter the country.
