Kangxi planted a locust tree in a pot. It has a history of more than 300 years. What is its history?

Kangxi has been looking for Emperor Shunzhi since he grew up. Originally, Kangxi had already found Emperor Shunzhi, but it was a pity that Kangxi and his son missed it without hearing Emperor Shunzhi's reminder. When Kangxi went to look for it later, he found that the old monk who had cooked the pot had traveled far and wide, leaving only one pot behind. Therefore, Kangxi planted a locust tree seed in the pot to commemorate his father.

01. It is said that Emperor Shunzhi became a monk for Concubine Dong E, and Kangxi wanted to find his father when he grew up.

According to legend, Emperor Shunzhi became discouraged after Concubine Dong E died and didn’t think about anything. Li wanted to die, but Xiaozhuang disagreed. In the end, Emperor Shunzhi saw through the world of mortals and became a monk. However, before Xiaozhuang could dissuade him, Emperor Shunzhi took off his royal robe and became a monk. In order to avoid the political impact of Emperor Shunzhi becoming a monk, Xiaozhuang directly announced that Emperor Shunzhi had passed away and allowed Kangxi to take the throne.

When Kangxi grew up, he always wanted to find the whereabouts of his father. He wanted to see how his father was living now. He also knew that his father had become a monk, so he kept visiting major temples to see if there were any. A chance to see his father again. It's a pity that Kangxi spent a lot of time looking for it but couldn't find it.

02. It means "the whole country (pot) cherishes (huai)" and is used to commemorate his father.

It wasn't until Kangxi went to Baiyun Temple that he met an old man who was cooking pots. Monk, Kangxi also asked the old monk who cooked the pot: "Excuse me, what is your name...?" The old monk calmly replied: "Bayi (y?), a poor monk..." Kangxi was very disappointed when he heard this. I found the wrong person again and went back.

On one occasion, Kangxi told what happened when he was on the way to find his father. After a minister reminded him, Kangxi realized that the old monk who cooked the pot reminded him that the eight and eight together were his father. Unfortunately, when Kangxi went there again, the old pot-burning monk went to travel around the world and didn't know when he would come back, leaving only a pot. Therefore, Kangxi ordered a locust tree seed to be planted in the pot to commemorate his father.
