The Historical Evolution of Changtai Town

According to legend, there was a dynasty in ancient times, and the people were harassed by soldiers and bandits after years of war. Relying on the overlapping mountains and easy-to-attack and easy-to-defend terrain, local farmers organized villagers to resist the looting of soldiers and bandits, defend their homes, and take the meaning of Changzhi Taian, hence the name Chang, Chongye Township outside the west gate of Putian.

During the Republic of China, it was called Changtai Township Office, and later changed to Yucang, Qinglong and Makou Township in Putian County.

After the establishment of New China, it is the eighth district office of Putian County.

July 1952 is the first 14 district of Putian county.

1 June 992 10 was Changtai Town, Putian County, and in May 20021was changed to Changtai Town, Chengxiang District.
