The implementation and time of the new policy

Based on the bill BILC2 1 8+1passed on February 3rd, 2018, the Canadian Border Agency (CBSA) will soon implement the collection of management data and information for entry and exit passengers. 20 19 will take effect for cross-border personnel entering and leaving the country by land from June, and will take effect for air passengers from June, 2020.

According to this policy, CBSA includes the entry and exit information of all passengers. In addition to determining whether all departing tourists leave the country as required, and determining whether tourists stay in Canada according to the date of entry and whether they leave the country on schedule, CBSA can also better combat the terrorist activities of members of terrorist organizations, more effectively deal with cases of missing children, and better combat the crime of abducting and selling women and children.

In addition, it helps to track the whereabouts of illegal immigrants, and helps to prevent fraudulent acts such as falsely reporting the date of stay in Canada to impersonate the Canadian social welfare fund and abusing the Canadian public health care system.
