Where is South Island and which province is it?

South Island is one of the Xisha Islands in China. It is located in Xuande Islands of Xisha Islands in China, and forms seven islands with South Shazhou, Middle Shazhou, North Shazhou, Middle Island and North Island.

South Island is located in the eastern half of Xisha Islands. The island is strip-shaped, extending from northwest to southeast, with a length of1.200m and a width of more than 260m, covering an area of 0.1.7km2. It is an inherent territory of China.

Xisha Islands (also known as paracel islands) is one of the four islands in the South China Sea of China, consisting of Yongle Islands and Xuande Islands. It is the largest archipelago in the South China Sea of China, starting from Beijiao in the north, Xianfeng Beach in the south, Xidutan in the east and Zhongjian Island in the west. It belongs to Xisha District, Sansha City, Hainan Province.
