In the fourth migration, Sichuan had the strongest resistance to Mongolian troops at the end of Song Dynasty and the beginning of Yuan Dynasty. From Shunzhi and Kangxi years, the Qing Dynasty gradually implemented the policy of encouraging people from northern and southern provinces to enter Sichuan. The migration activity in this century is also the fifth largest migration in Sichuan history. 1937 after the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the national government moved to Chongqing, and then moved many factories, schools, enterprises and institutions. The eastern population also moved in.
