Jimmy Kimmel’s personal life
Kimmel was born in Brooklyn, New York, and continues his ancestry from a German father and an Italian mother. His father, James Kimmel, is an executive at IBM, and his mother, Joan, is a housewife. He is the eldest of three children. Kimmel is a Roman Catholic and served as an altar boy when he was young. His mother is of Italian descent, and his father's ancestors are German immigrants. Uncle Frank Potenza was a regular guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" from 2003 until his death in 2011. Cousin Sal Iacono once co-hosted "Win Ben Stein's Money" with Kimmel and is now a screenwriter on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
