"Red Faction: Armageddon" hands-on review!

Recently, the TPS masterpiece "Red Faction: Doomsday" was officially released. I was attracted by this game as soon as I played it. I played it for more than 4 hours at a stretch.

This game inherits the feature of the previous game that you can destroy the scene at will. With the Havok physics engine and a variety of extremely destructive weapons, you can truly destroy whatever you want. What's even more wonderful is that the protagonist has The ability to restore the scene. If you feel that you want to destroy the scene just now, it doesn’t matter. The protagonist can immediately restore the scene from a pile of ruins, and then you can do it again!

See the scene that has fallen What should you do if the enemies on the ground are unhappy? Hit them with a hammer and there will be a pool of blood.

Nowadays life is full of all kinds of pressures. Were you criticized by your teacher at school? Dismissed by your boss at the company? Bitten by a dog in your community? Your girlfriend complained about your lack of performance at night? Come on, enter. "Red Faction: Armageddon" lets vent your anger, the plot is all over the place!

Game Introduction

The Red Faction Resistance and their Marauder allies emerge from the savage Earth Half a century after Mars was liberated from the hands of the Defense Forces, peaceful life on Mars is once again threatened by lethal force, and this time the source of the threat is shrouded in mystery.

When a large amount of Earth-like air and weather on Mars was destroyed, the atmosphere began to become chaotic, and super tornadoes and lightning storms swept across the entire planet. In order to survive, the people who lived on the colony fled to underground mines and built a network of habitable caves.

Five years later, Martian revolutionary leader Alec Mason and Samanya's grandson Darius Mason are making money in Bastion, the underground core of the colony's inhabitants. Mining, cleaning up garbage, whatever makes money - if the job you are assigned is dangerous, then Darius is your best choice. No one in their right mind would venture into the ravaged surface these days, except, of course, contractors like Darius and the smuggling ships that carried goods between colonies.

When Darius mischievously reopens a mysterious facility within an ancient Marauder temple, he unleashes a long-dormant evil and brings doom to Mars. With the alien settlements and Marauder settlements torn apart, only Darius and the Red Faction can save humanity. The battle will take them across the storm-torn planet and deep beneath it, to the heart of an unspeakable threat.

IGN evaluation

The overall feeling is 7.5 points: the game menu, music and cutscenes are all very good. The UI is smooth and everything in the scene is easy to find. The story of the game is relatively weak.

Picture performance 7.0 points: The graphics of "Red Faction: Armageddon" always look less than outstanding, and the same goes for the recurring caves. The explosions and destruction in the game are excellent, though.

Sound effect performance 8.0 points: The voice actors performed well and the game music was also very appropriate. It would be better if the weapon sound effects were better.

Start-up experience: 7.0 points: Some levels are very exciting, and some are very boring. Additional modes, such as multiplayer, are great.

7.5 points for playability: The campaign mode is worth playing through, but the multiplayer mode is not as playable.

Overall rating: 7.0 points

Final comments: Although the storyline of this game did not leave a deep impression on people, the rhythm of the campaign mode is also problematic. However, "Red Faction: Armageddon" can still let you awaken the destructive self in your heart. Scenes that can be destroyed and restored are a core part of the game. The many destructible parts of the game make it easy to get stuck in it. Coupled with the game's other modes, including co-op and survival, it feels like it's well worth a try.
