Apply for a Hong Kong permanent identity card: China citizens who meet one of the following conditions are eligible to apply for a Hong Kong permanent identity card issued overseas: they were born in Hong Kong and their parents have settled in Hong Kong at the time of their birth or at any time after their birth; Usually have lived in Hong Kong continuously for more than seven years before or at any time after the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; At the time of birth, the father or mother was a citizen of China and had the right of abode in Hong Kong.
Legal basis: Article 10 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Exit and Entry Administration stipulates that citizens of China who travel between the Mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region, and citizens of China who travel between the Mainland and Taiwan Province Province, shall apply for permits according to law and abide by the relevant provisions of this Law. Specific management measures shall be formulated by the State Council.
