According to the inquiry of the Transportation Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Pinglu Canal is a river-sea connection project between the main stream of Xijiang River and Beibu Gulf. It starts at the Pingtang estuary east of Nanning, runs along the lower Shaping River, connects with the Jiuzhou River and Qinjiang River, and enters the Beibu Gulf from Maoweihai in Qinzhou City, with a total length of about 140 km.
