How to apply for a New Zealand study visa
1. How are the application areas divided for Chinese students to apply for a New Zealand study visa?
Generally speaking, applicants from Zhejiang Province, Shanghai City, Anhui Province, Fujian Province, Jiangsu Province, and Jiangxi Province apply at the New Zealand Immigration Bureau’s Shanghai office;
Guangdong Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hainan Province, and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region apply at the New Zealand Immigration Bureau office in Hong Kong; other provinces apply at the New Zealand Immigration Bureau office in Beijing.
2. What is the status of the New Zealand Immigration Service’s review of international student visas?
The fiscal year for student visa processing is from July 1 of each year to June 30 of the next year.
3. How many international students can the New Zealand government accommodate (per year)?
There is currently no clear number. There are language schools, middle schools and universities that accept students. Some schools are expanding, and some cities are building new schools.
4. What is a limited purpose visa? How is it different from ordinary students? Is it easier to obtain a visa?
Limited purpose visa is a visa policy promulgated in November 1999. This visa is also a student visa and can also be a short-term visa of various types. It is a single-entry visa (ordinary visa is a multiple-entry visa). This type of visa can be issued when the applicant meets the basic conditions for the visa, but there are certain conditions that must be reviewed but cannot be reviewed. For example, if most of an applicant's funds pass the review, but a small part of the funds cannot be reviewed, this kind of visa can be granted. Applicants who obtain a limited purpose visa generally have to return to the country where they applied for a visa to re-enter New Zealand after arriving in New Zealand.
For the case where the limited purpose visa is changed to an ordinary student visa, as long as the following conditions are met, the ordinary student visa can generally be re-approved:
(1) Meet the qualifications of New Zealand schools Attendance rate;
(2) Meet the academic performance requirements of the school;
(3) Meet the financial guarantee conditions;
(4) Meet the requirements of the physical examination;
(5) Meet ethical requirements.
For applicants who apply to study abroad, the visa officer will issue a general student visa or a limited purpose visa based on comprehensive reasons such as financial guarantee and study plan.
5. Do applicants have to provide their household registration booklet? If the household registration book conflicts with other documents, will it affect the visa?
According to the current visa policy, we hope that applicants will provide their household registration books, which will help with the review. If conflicts occur, applicants need to provide written explanations.
6. If the applicant fails the physical examination, can he apply again in the future?
If you are not qualified due to health reasons and meet the requirements after treatment, you can still apply.
7. If the applicant is under 18 years old, is there any problem that the school will charge guardianship fees?
I have not heard of such a policy. There used to be regulations for applicants under 16 years old, but there are no such policies now.
8. As deposits as guarantee funds, what kind of deposits are effective? Which bank’s deposits are better? How to explain the source of funds? Are student loans acceptable as secured funds?
Deposits from state-recognized banks such as Bank of China and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China can be used as effective guarantee funds. Applicants can prove their source of funds based on the true situation. As long as it is their legal income, various forms such as salary slips, dividend certificates, and stock lists can be used as proof of source of funds. A small part of the funds used to apply for studying abroad can be loans, and the majority needs to be your own savings.
9. How can older applicants obtain a visa?
This is related to the applicant’s academic qualifications, study plan, previous work experience, study experience, and financial status. If this information is authentic and credible, a student visa can still be obtained.
