South Korea Labor Visa

The application for a Korean labor visa is handled in South Korea (handled by the employer), but you must obtain a visa in your home country before you can enter South Korea. Even if you are in South Korea, you must return to your home country once. Only after you return to South Korea can you legally work. The Korean labor visa is valid for 1 year and the application takes 2-4 weeks. If you continue to extend your visa without changing the employer, you can apply for it in South Korea. After entering Korea with a labor visa, you need to apply for a residence permit at the Entry-Exit Administration Office. Working in South Korea without a Korean labor visa is illegal labor and you will need to pay a fine if you are caught.
