How do mainlanders get Macao identity cards? Thank you for your questions.

Residents of the Macao Special Administrative Region, referred to as Macao residents for short, include permanent residents and non-permanent residents. Permanent residents of the Macao Special Administrative Region are: (1) China citizens born in Macao before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and their China children born outside Macao; (2) China citizens who have ordinarily resided in Macao for more than seven consecutive years before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and their children of China nationality born outside Macao after becoming permanent residents; (3) Portuguese born in Macao before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and having Macao as their permanent residence; (4) Portuguese who have ordinarily resided in Macao for more than seven consecutive years before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and have taken Macao as their permanent residence; (5) Other persons who have ordinarily resided in Macao for more than seven consecutive years before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and have taken Macao as their permanent residence; (6) Children under the age of 18 born in Macao before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region by the permanent residents listed in Item (5). The above-mentioned residents enjoy the right of abode in the Macao Special Administrative Region and are eligible to obtain permanent identity cards of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Non-permanent residents of the Macao Special Administrative Region refer to those who are qualified to obtain Macao identity cards according to the laws of the Macao Special Administrative Region, but have no right of abode.
