Resettlement of Wanjiazhai Water Control Project

The land requisition in the construction area of Wanjiazhai Water Control Project is 6583 mu, including 29 15 mu of cultivated land, which was completed before 1997. The reservoir area is flooded with 70 natural villages in Qingshuihe County of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Zhungeer Banner of Shanxi Province and Pianguan County 10 townships (towns). The land requisition in the reservoir area is 184 14 mu, which inundates 3698 rural people, houses and kilns of various types 123800 square meters, and 7 large-scale special projects. The migration in the reservoir area began at 1994 and ended at 1998. Land requisition procedures have been handled in accordance with relevant state regulations. There are 500 people in the construction area and 5094 people in the reservoir area. After the implementation, the satisfaction rate of immigrants in the construction area and the reservoir area to the production and living resettlement is over 90%. The relocation of seven special facilities started at 1997 and was completed in 2000, restoring the original functions. The cleaning of the bottom of the reservoir passed the acceptance in September. 1998.
