If you do too many bad things, will you suffer retribution?
Amitabha
Good deeds will be rewarded with good deeds, and evil deeds will be rewarded with evil deeds. It is true and true. Master Daan---There are three ways of karma: immediate retribution, retribution in life, and retribution in the future. Unripe fruit is the result of birth or hindrance.
Once, Sakyamuni Buddha said to Ananda: "There are people who do good deeds in this life, but when they die, they are reincarnated in hell; there is also a kind of person who has done a lot of bad karma in this life, but After death, he was reincarnated in heaven." Venerable Ananda did not understand why evil people went to heaven and good people went to hell. What was the reason? How is the principle of retribution for good and evil reflected?
Some people in society now feel that there is no retribution when they see that good people often suffer and are in bad situations, and evil people often gain power. Since he does not believe in cause and effect, he deduces from this that he does not believe in the Pure Land Dharma. This is indeed the bottleneck to believing in cause and effect. As the saying goes: "Good deeds will be rewarded with good deeds, and evil deeds will be rewarded with evil deeds. It's not that you don't get retribution because the time has not yet come." Although this statement is simple, the truth is obvious. If this serious question cannot be answered theoretically and satisfactorily, the law of cause and effect will be overturned. Overturning the law of cause and effect, there is no basis for good or evil actions, and there is no reason for everyone to do good.
Buddhist answer to this question: This is called the unusually ripe fruit in the Dharma-Appearance Consciousness-Only Sect. That is, the karma you have created now is repaid in different time and space states, that is, it is born at different times and matures. Master Huiyuan, the founder of the Pure Land Sect, talks about three ways of retribution:
First, present retribution, second, birth retribution, and third, future retribution. Unripe fruit is the result of birth or hindrance.
The reason for doing good deeds in this life and falling into hell after death is because the good deeds he did in this life have not yet matured, but the evil he did in his previous life has matured first. He fell into hell because the hell he created in his previous life has matured in this life, and he must first receive the retribution of going to hell. But the good deeds done in this life will be rewarded in the future time and space.
If someone commits evil in this life and is reborn in heaven after death, it is because his evil deeds in this life have not matured yet, but his good deeds in his previous life have matured first, and if he matures first, he will be rewarded first. Those who do evil have already matured their good deeds in their previous lives, and are reborn in heaven from this good cause.
We ordinary people can’t see clearly this complex pattern, so we will express great doubts about the law of cause and effect that good will be rewarded with good and evil will be rewarded with evil. In fact, the situation of unripe fruits is very important in our lives. A lot happened during the process.
For example, if a practitioner becomes seriously ill, does that mean that he has no effort in practice, or that his practice is useless? Master Jiexian was an eminent monk in ancient India, but he contracted a disease and was so painful that he wanted to commit suicide. When he was about to commit suicide, he felt that Manjushri, Samantabhadra, Guanyin and other great Bodhisattvas appeared and told him: You were once a king and killed many sentient beings. According to your killing karma, you were going to hell. Because of your achievements in cultivating the Tao in this life. , pay more attention to retribution and neglect suffering. If you are tortured by diseases in the human world, the killing karma of going to hell will be repaid. It does not mean that you have no effort in cultivation. He also told him: "Three years later, Master Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty will come to study with you." At this time, Master Jiexian's state of mind stabilized, he slowly repented of his karma, continued to practice, and gradually recovered from his illness. Three years later, Master Xuanzang came to learn Dharma from him. A disciple of Master Jie Xian introduced Master Xuanzang's illness. The disciple was so miserable that he couldn't stop crying.
