Mixed-blood in English.

The Spaniards—including native whites and peninsulas—Indians and blacks mixed with each other during the colonial period, resulting in various mixed-race people. Roughly speaking, lower economic status groups, Spanish immigrants, skilled and unskilled laborers, etc., intermarried with Indians more frequently.

Many Indian women and even black women gave birth to the children and grandchildren of native white landowners. Of all these mestizos, the fastest growing group in the colonies was the mestizo, the only descendants of Spaniards and Indians.

Advantages and disadvantages of mixed-race babies

1. One of the most obvious advantages of mixed-race babies is their good looks. The appearance of mixed-race babies is often in line with human aesthetics. Big eyes and long eyelashes are almost standard. And if they are white and mixed-race, mixed-race babies often have fair skin. The facial features of mixed-race babies are often very symmetrical and highly personalized. Mainly because people of mixed race tend to inherit dominant genes from their parents, which can hide many less-than-perfect recessive traits.

2. Mixed-race babies may have better genes. Mixed-race children often combine the best blood of two ethnic groups and may be smarter than normal children.

3. Mixed-race babies can be influenced by different cultures and receive more cultural knowledge, which is conducive to the more comprehensive development of mixed-race babies.

4. Mixed-race babies may be very beautiful when they are young, and their facial features are very advantageous. However, because the facial features are very deep, in the later stages, especially when we are old, the skin is prone to sagging and the eyes will appear sunken, which may not be in line with the aesthetics of the elderly.

5. Mixed-race babies may carry more inferior genes and may develop congenital diseases.

6. The mixing of two ethnic groups is often a cultural collision, and different education methods may affect the normal development of children's brains. Moreover, some mixed-race babies may be subject to racial discrimination, especially at work, and are vulnerable to unfair treatment.
