Minnan dialect, which originated in the Luoshui Valley of the Yellow River, moved to southern Fujian in the Western Jin, Tang and Northern Song Dynasties and originated in Quanzhou, Fujian. There are many Minnan people among overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia.
