The Consulate General of China in Toronto issued a notice yesterday, stating that the visa application regulations for travel, visiting relatives, business and visiting China will be changed from this month 16. According to the new regulations, citizens with Canadian passports who want to visit relatives in China must provide invitations from domestic units or permanent individuals, including those from the applicant's parents.

The circular pointed out that those who cannot provide invitations need to provide air tickets and hotel orders. To apply for a business or visit visa, you must provide the original or photocopy of the invitation letter of the authorized unit in China, the original or photocopy of the invitation letter of various trade fairs, or the original or facsimile of the invitation letter of state-owned, collective, joint venture, sole proprietorship or private company, educational, cultural, scientific research unit and conference organizer. The invitation letter of the authorized unit refers to the visa invitation letter issued by the relevant government departments, companies or social organizations designated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
