Where can I go without a criminal record in Hong Kong?

Application procedures and required documents for applying for a certificate of no criminal conviction/good citizen card

Applicants should go through the formalities in person at the Certificate of No Criminal Record Office on the 4th floor of arsenal street 1 Police Tower, Wan Chai Police Headquarters. The office hours for accepting applications and paying fees are as follows:

Monday to Friday 9: 00 a.m. to 9: 00 p.m. 12: 45 p.m.

2: 00 pm to 4: 00 pm 15 pm

Saturday 9 am to 1 1 point 15.

Closed on Sundays/Public Holidays

Applicants should bring the following documents:

(a) his Hong Kong identity card or valid travel document;

(b) The original and photocopy of the letter issued by the relevant consulate/immigration bureau.

The letter must contain the name of the applicant and clearly state that the consulate/immigration office needs to see the certificate of no criminal record;

(c) If there is no name of the applicant in the letter, documents (original and photocopy) proving the relationship between the applicant and the visa must be provided;

(d) The application fee is HK$ 165 yuan per person, which can be paid in cash or by cheque.

If payment is made by cheque, please cross the cheque and indicate that the payee is "the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region".

Applicants who want to make an appointment by telephone can call the automatic telephone reservation system at 2396 535 1 at least one day before the appointment time.

Agree to print fingerprints, authorize the disclosure of criminal records and issue certificates.

Applicants must agree to accept fingerprints and sign a power of attorney authorizing the Hong Kong Police Force to keep their fingerprints and disclose details of their criminal records in Hong Kong to the relevant consulate/immigration bureau.

If the applicant has no criminal record in Hong Kong, we will notify the relevant consulate/immigration office directly by registered mail within four weeks.

If the applicant has a criminal record, a registered reply will be sent within the same period to inform the relevant consulate/immigration bureau and the applicant that it is impossible to issue a "certificate of no criminal record" and list the criminal record information.

If the applicant is under investigation by the Hong Kong Police Force or the defendant in Hong Kong criminal proceedings, his application will not be further processed until the relevant incident is over. The office will inform the applicant by letter that his application is being processed. When there are no other outstanding events, we will issue a certificate or letter according to the above contents.

Processing of personal data

The personal data provided by the applicant will only be used for processing its application. They have the right to request in writing the Chief Inspector (Support) at West Wing 1 0/F, Police Building, arsenal street1Police Headquarters, Wan Chai, Identification Bureau to access and correct their personal data. As the application requires administrative fees, the Commissioner of Police may charge the applicant a fee. In most cases, the charge for each page of information is the same as that currently charged by the government for photocopying each page. When the application process is completed, fingerprints and other personal data will be destroyed within a reasonable time.
