Since the founding of New China, especially since the reform and opening up, China painters in Chongqing have extended their hands to tradition and life. They pay attention to the exploration of formal language and create a large number of works full of the flavor of the times and regional characteristics. Unexpectedly, less than 20 days after the letter was sent, he received a warm personal reply from Guan Lao. Later, Zhou Shunkai's works were ready for publication. He had the idea of asking the old man to write a book. With the feeling of trying, he wrote another letter to Guan Lao, but soon after the letter was sent, he learned the news of Guan Lao's death from the media. On August 6th, 2000, Zhou Shunkai received a letter from Mr. Guan Shanyue's daughter Guan Yi. The first sentence in the letter is: "Sorry, I just sent you the title of my father's book before he died." Guan Lao died of illness on July 3, 2000. When his daughter was dealing with the old man's relics, she found the words "Selected Works of Zhou Shunkai" inscribed by the old man before his death.

Zhou Shunkai said that Guan Lao's personal reply gave him great encouragement, and the spiritual wealth left by the master will be used for life.
