Why explore the universe?
universe
I feel that this can be discussed from many levels, so I will briefly talk about it from the personal level and the social level.
Personally, because of curiosity, because of the yearning for the unknown. A long time ago, there was a saying that watching the sky at night included people who looked up at the size of the universe and found themselves small, and thousands of ancient people who were flying around in the sky. To some extent, we always want to know what we don't know, and that is curiosity.
2. Social dimension
The purpose of exploring the universe is also to better protect and develop the earth. At present, the earth is facing severe challenges such as climate warming, ecological destruction, energy depletion and the possibility of asteroids hitting the earth, which forces us to consider whether human beings need to emigrate to other planets in the future.
It seems unrealistic to emigrate the whole human race now, even if only a few people emigrate. Therefore, to make human society develop continuously, the only way is to solve the problems of ecological protection and sustainable utilization of energy on the earth, develop and utilize space resources, and continuously improve human life.
