Klia2 transits in Kuala Lumpur, and the airport is different. Do I need to apply for a horse sign?

The most comprehensive Malaysian transit visa strategy in history, all kinds of questions and answers.

I. What is a "transit sign"

The official full name of Malaysian transit visa is "TWOV-visa-free transit", and you can apply for TWOV only if the stay time declared to the Malaysian Immigration Bureau does not exceed 120 hours.

The link on official website of Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs about China citizens applying for TWOV (the official explanation on the Internet is hard to find):

(Please refer to the section "120 hour visa-free transit convenience")

China citizens need to meet the following conditions to apply for a transit visa:

1. Endurance ticket (referring to your connecting flight ticket leaving Malaysia) cannot exceed 120 hours.

Interpretation: The second half of this article will explain in detail whether Malaysia's transit is 120 hours or 72 hours.

2. As long as the outbound flights leave the country from the same port of entry.

Interpretation: It doesn't need to be the same airport. For example, LCCT entry and KLIA exit are allowed, but Kuala Lumpur Airport entry and Penang Airport exit are not allowed.

You must have a confirmed endurance ticket to the third country/the next country.

Interpretation: The destination of the endurance ticket cannot be the country before flying to Kuala Lumpur. For example, the itinerary is: Singapore → Kuala Lumpur → Singapore. In this case, you can't apply for a Malaysian transit visa. Endurance tickets need to be printed in advance.

Passport must be valid for at least 6 months.

5. The printed travel itinerary and the original ticket must be presented. If you only show your itinerary number/reservation number, you will be refused entry.

Explanation: The original air ticket refers to the air ticket you received during your trip. For example, when you book an AirAsia ticket, AirAsia will send you an email containing a PDF file, including the itinerary and flight number. Print it out.

6. Hold a single entry visa/multiple entry visa with valid destination.

Interpretation: In actual application, Malaysian officials only need Malaysian transit visa applicants to hold passports valid for at least six months and endurance tickets to third countries.

7. Prove that I have enough funds to stay in Malaysia.

Interpretation: Don't worry about this. In most cases, you will not be asked to show cash or anything unless your character is too bad. . .

2. Malaysia will no longer issue visas on arrival (VOA).

Please note that from August 10, 20 15, Immigration Malaysia will no longer issue visas on arrival (VOA).

Interpretation: landing visa and transit visa are two concepts. Malaysia does not issue landing visa, but as long as you meet the requirements of a transit visa, you can get a Malaysian transit visa.

3. Airports and ports where Malaysia can apply for transit visas.

Malaysian transit signs are only used by passengers passing through Malaysia at the following locations: Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Low Cost Airport (LCCT), Penang Bayanlepas Airport, Senay Airport, Kota Kinabalu Airport, Kuching Airport and ports where international cruise ships call.

The above measures do not apply to tourists transiting Malaysia by land from Thailand and Singapore; In addition, those who enter Malaysia by plane or international cruise from China and then transit through a third country (such as Thailand and Singapore) by land, or arrive in Malaysia by land from a third country (such as Thailand and Singapore) and then return to Taiwan Province by connecting flight, are not subject to the above visa-free measures, and must apply for a Malaysian entry visa in advance before they can transit through Malaysia by land.

4. Is Malaysia's transit sign 120 hours or 72 hours?

China left the country for 72 hours

For China border inspectors, strictly speaking, the transit time means that the transit time is only 24 hours. Due to the increasing number of self-help tourists passing through Malaysia in recent years, this regulation has also been relaxed in border inspection in various places, especially in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Basically, you can cross the border without a visa in Malaysia, and you will be released if the flight time is within 72 hours.

It is best for tourists to call the local border inspection authorities before departure and ask about the release conditions. The following are the cases collected by Bian Xiao:

Beijing: 72 hours

Beijing Border Inspection: According to your situation, you can go through exit formalities with a valid passport and a Vietnamese visa. Some airports in Malaysia require foreign passengers to stay in transit for more than 72 hours and must hold a valid transit visa. I suggest you learn more about the relevant regulations from the immigration bureau of this country, so as not to affect your trip. Check the original text

Hangzhou: 72 hours

Hangzhou Border Inspection gave an accurate answer: At present, Hangzhou Border Inspection still only recognizes Malaysia's visa-free transit for 72 hours, and the calculation time is from your arrival in Kuala Lumpur to your departure from Kuala Lumpur, which cannot exceed 72 hours, and it is not calculated according to natural days. For example, I arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 7 pm on June 65438+1October 18, and left at 6: 40 pm on June 2 1 October 2. Although the natural day seems to have four days, the difference is actually only 7 1.5 hours. Hangzhou border inspection said that I can leave the country without a Malaysian visa. View full text

Chengdu: 72 hours

Border inspection: Usually we can leave the country within 72 hours.

Me: You said 72 hours, and your colleague just said 24 hours. Which one is correct?

Subsequently, Uncle Frontier 2; According to international practice, it is within 24 hours.

Guangzhou: 120 hours

Attention, friends departing from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Border Inspection Manual Service Tel: 020-3606695 1. I telephoned the border inspection staff and learned that if you leave Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with a valid third-country visa and a joint flight ticket certificate to a third country, as long as you meet the requirements of Malaysia's transit visa (it is recommended to print out the relevant regulations for presentation), in principle, the border inspection will be released, and you will not be stopped by the legendary "72-hour" rule (of course, you may need to explain patiently if something happens).

/kloc-return from Malaysia in 0/20 hours.

When flying back to China from Malaysia, you can apply for a transit visa according to 120 hours.

5. How is the Malaysia 120 hour crossing sign calculated? Is today nature day?

Malaysia: When you apply for a transit visa, the immigration officer in Malaysia will not calculate your 120 hours in hours, but only in days. The calculation method is that the application date and departure date are also calculated as one day, that is to say, the entry date is calculated as the first day at any time. For example, the application date is 65438+ 10/month, and the applicant must leave the country at the latest. Therefore, if you want to make full use of the effective time of visa-free transit, you can wait until after midnight and then apply for a Malaysian transit visa at the airport.

Case:

At 20: 30 on February 25th, we flew from Phnom Penh to KLCC. We planned to catch the 2 1: 40 plane to pick up Langkawi and BSAirAsia, but we didn't arrive on time and landed more than half an hour late. After getting off the plane, I rushed to the entrance of the domestic hall from the exit of the international hall to check in. Our return ticket was booked at 0: 20 on March 2nd, which means that the date of our stay in Malaysia is 2.25/2.26/2.27/2.28/3.1/3.2, which the visa officer thinks is 6 days ...! Not to mention that we only have three hours left after sunset on the 25th, and we only stayed for 20 minutes on the last day! We stressed to the visa officer that it is impossible for us to leave the country within 20 minutes of the last day, and we will definitely leave the customs before 22: 00 pm on March 1, but the visa officer has always believed that the time should be counted from the time when the plane takes off from the runway, not from the time when we leave the customs; If it takes five days, you have to wait at the airport until the early morning of the 26th before you can enter the customs ... In this way, my friend spent 330PM with us to catch the 2 1: 40 plane and got the landing visa. Check the original text

Reminder: If it is a connecting flight, please try to use the 5-day principle (natural days, from arrival to departure, even if it is 5 minutes after 12, it is also one day). If the journey exceeds 120 hours, the regulations are the regulations, and you can definitely not apply for a Malaysian transit visa. Please apply for a Malaysian visa in advance.

6. Will it be a problem to enter East Malaysia from West Malaysia with a transit visa?

In principle, it is only allowed to stay in transit cities, but because there is no border inspection in West Malaysia, it is not a big problem to go to all parts of West Malaysia during the transit endorsement period. However, there is a risk of being refused a visa to enter East Malaysia from West Malaysia to East Malaysia (such as Sabah) with a Malaysian transit visa. If you want to enter East Malaysia from West Malaysia, it is recommended to apply for a Malaysian visa.

Seven. Apply for a transit visa that requires a second transit to Malaysia.

You have a visa to enter Malaysia once. Can I apply for a transit visa when I enter Malaysia and use a visa when I return?

If you do not apply for a transit visa using a Malaysian visa, you risk being rejected. If you need to stay in Malaysia for more than 120 hours for the second time, it is recommended to apply for multiple visas to Malaysia instead of applying for transit visas with Malaysian visas.

8. Can I apply for a transit visa from China to Kuala Lumpur without an Indonesian visa, and then transfer to Bali?

Yes, Malaysian transit visas are not directly related to visas. But you must make sure whether you have a valid visa to enter your destination, or whether you can apply for a visa after you arrive at your destination.

Pay attention to one detail here. You are allowed to leave China for Indonesian border inspection (visa-free), including transit in Kuala Lumpur, but it should be noted that your transit time cannot exceed 72 hours. If the transit time exceeds 72 hours, Baiben will not be allowed to leave the country for border inspection.

9. Can I use the LCCT transit channel (international to international) without visa-free?

The conditions for using LCCT transit channel (international to international) without applying for Malaysian transit sign are as follows:

1. If you have a joint ticket, you can use the LCCT transit channel without visa-free transit to Malaysia. However, non-connecting flights can also take the connecting channel, provided that passengers can't have checked baggage (because the checked baggage arriving in Kuala Lumpur can only be picked up at the baggage arrival area after passing through the transfer hall on the second floor of LCCT). Once in the international departure restricted area, passengers can't leave the restricted area to pick up their luggage without a Malaysian visa, so they have to leave their checked luggage. On the connecting flight, you can hang your luggage directly.

2. Transit passengers must hold their air tickets to the next destination (printed air tickets and boarding passes, web checkin should be carried out in advance) and valid visas, check the air tickets at the check-in counter, and then check the visas of the next destination country.

3. The transit passage is limited to international entry and exit (international and domestic flights need to be checked by the Malaysian Immigration Bureau for visa entry and then exit the restricted area) and go directly to the international lounge. After arriving at the international terminal, transit passengers are not allowed to leave the restricted area without the sign of horse.

4. The interval between two flights using the transfer corridor should be between 90 minutes and 6 hours.

Don't go to the second floor when you get off the plane, just take a connecting flight, and a staff member will tell you how to get there.

As long as the above conditions are met, passengers on non-connecting flights can also take the connecting channel (connecting flights naturally take this channel). The advantage of this transfer is to save time. Especially for friends who have a tight connection time at LCCT.

Note: The success rate of non-connecting flights through connecting channel is not 100%. Even if there is no baggage to check in, it is best to reserve more than 4 hours of transfer time to prevent accidents.

10. What does it mean that the transit sign has a third country endurance ticket?

Third country: refers to the country where you didn't fly to Malaysia.

The first country: the country where you started.

The second country: Malaysia

Third country: countries other than the first and second mentioned above.

For example:

Thailand-Malaysia-China; China-Malaysia-Australia → transit through Malaysia to a third country, you can apply for a transit visa.

China-Malaysia-China; Thailand-Malaysia-Thailand → The destination is only Malaysia, and you cannot apply for a transit visa.
