When I grow up, I want to study in the United States, be a translator, and get a green card to live in the United States. How can I get a green card?

First of all, the first problem is that foreign students are not allowed to work outside the school. The second problem is that translation work is definitely not easy to find in America. Think about how many people in the United States are legal citizens and can speak Chinese. The third question, once you are an international student visa, the possibility of getting a green card is almost zero. In the United States, there are only two ways for international students to get a green card. The first is to ask a big American company to offer you a job, and then ask them to change your visa into a work visa. You can apply for a green card one year after the work visa. But the premise is that the company must be big! Like some multinational companies. No company in the United States is willing to help international students change their work visas because of the high cost and they think that once they change their work visas, they will immediately quit their jobs and find other good companies to work for. The second way is to marry an American citizen and ask him/her to help you apply for a green card. This method is much simpler.

Finally, international students are not allowed to stay in the United States after graduation (unless you choose to continue studying). Many students choose to stay in the United States illegally to find a job, but this has a disadvantage, that is, once you return to China, the US Immigration Service will not issue you a visa again. In other words, you joined their blacklist. It is unlikely that you want to come to the United States again or apply for a green card in the future. But if you don't return to China, there is basically nothing, in other words, you are in an "immigration prison." But with a green card or a work visa, you can go back to China.
