Xiamen University School of Society and Anthropology

The School of Social and Anthropology of Xiamen University is a second-level college of Xiamen University, which was formed by integrating the sociology and social work department of the School of Public Affairs of Xiamen University, the population research institute of the former Public Policy Research Institute, and the anthropology and ethnology department and anthropology research institute of the School of Humanities. The School of Social and Anthropology of Xiamen University will condense the discipline direction from the historical accumulation of disciplines, Xiamen University's relative location advantages and the needs of social development, and create research fields with Xiamen University's characteristics, especially focusing on social governance, ethnic groups and culture, marine anthropology, heritage science, immigration and transnational mobility, and strive to build Xiamen University's sociology and anthropology into domestic first-class and internationally influential disciplines.
