How to prepare for NZQA certification when applying for studying in New Zealand?
NZQA academic certification
New Zealand recognizes local qualifications and formal overseas qualifications. However, when receiving applications for skilled immigrants, they often receive various academic certificates. The evaluation of overseas academic qualifications is very complicated and time-consuming. Therefore, the New Zealand Immigration Bureau entrusted the evaluation of overseas academic qualifications to a special government agency-NZQA.
NZQA evaluates different academic qualifications according to NZQF, New Zealand's national academic qualification certification framework, and determines academic qualifications plus points according to this framework:
1, 10-doctor's degree;
Grade 2.9-master's degree;
Grade 3.8-Postgraduate Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate and Bachelor's Honorary Degree;
Grade 4.7-bachelor's degree, graduate diploma and graduate diploma; ;
5, level 6-diploma (similar to domestic junior college);
Grade 6.5-4-certificate (similar to domestic vocational qualification certificate, such as advanced certificate and technician certificate);
7. Level 3-1- No education below level 3.
In terms of specific academic qualifications, 70 points can be added for 9-10 academic qualifications; Grade 7-8 education can add 50 points; Grade 3-6 education can add 40 points.
The time for NZQA qualification evaluation and certification is generally 2-3 months, and in some cases it will exceed half a year (it will be postponed in winter and summer vacation), depending on the response speed of relevant schools and work units in the verification process.
Of course, not all overseas degrees must be certified by NZQA, and some overseas schools' degrees can be exempted from evaluation. For example, most of the degrees offered by 2 1 1 institutions in China can be exempted from academic certification.
Authentication process
1. Visit NZQA official website to register and log in;
2. After successful login, enter the IAQ application page (apply for international qualification assessment);
3. Fill in the specific information as required.
Proof material
1. Identity information: passport notarization or birth notarization;
2. Academic information: Chinese and English transcripts, Chinese and English academic certificates, and high school diplomas;
3. Work information: work certificate (such as labor contract, resignation certificate, social security, etc. ), occupation-related qualification certificate (not provided), recommendation letter;
4. Credit card information: dual-currency credit card (used for online deduction).
It is best to seal it in triplicate, and prepare more copies if possible. After passing, the original certificate and NZQA report will be sent back to you. Generally, the cycle of NZQA certification is 2-3 months, and the certification fee is11NZ (standard fee is 746 NZ, expedited fee is 404 NZ, and material return fee is 465438 NZ+0 NZ).
These are the NZQA certification strategies you need to know when applying for skilled immigrants in New Zealand. Of course, NZQA certification is not required for local qualifications obtained by New Zealand students, but qualifications obtained outside New Zealand (unless explicitly exempted) need certification. Although some of them are within the scope of exempted institutions, they also need to apply for NZQA certification if the major does not match the nominated shortage major.
Immigration conditions
First, students studying in senior high schools in New Zealand in grades 12 and 13, including those taking English classes, can take part-time jobs.
2. Overseas students can obtain an unconditional work permit of 12 months after obtaining a recognized graduation certificate (at least a national diploma level 5 certificate or above); This policy is aimed at students of all majors, and some majors that need three years of work experience to obtain relevant professional certification can apply for three-year unconditional work permits, such as architecture and accounting.
Third, students who have attended courses equal to or more than 12 months can apply for full-time jobs in the summer vacation;
4. The weekly working hours of students who meet the visa requirements for overseas students in New Zealand are extended from the current 15 hours to 20 hours;
Fifthly, if the course you are studying belongs to a vocational or postgraduate course with skills shortage in New Zealand, your spouse can unconditionally apply for a work visa, and the validity period of the visa will be the same as that of the student's course.
Sixth, the tuition fees of students applying for the New Zealand doctoral program will be the same as those of local students.
Seventh, starting from February 7, 20 18, the New Zealand Immigration Bureau will issue free "transition visas" to international students applying for visas in its territory. International students applying for this policy should hold student visas and are applying for new student visas, work visas or visiting visas. It is worth noting that for students who come to New Zealand for short-term study or participate in winter and summer vacations with visiting visas, the "transition visa" also allows these students to legally convert their visiting visas into New Zealand study visas.
Eighth, for international students who have reached the age of 18 to apply for renewal in New Zealand, the New Zealand Immigration Bureau no longer requires proof of accommodation guarantee, and international students who have not reached the age of 18 only need to prove that their accommodation meets the requirements of the New Zealand Ministry of Education for international students. At this stage, all students must provide accommodation guarantee and financial guarantee of more than S $65,438+0,000 before they can reapply.
