Why does Chongqing not attach importance to Wanzhou, Yunyang, Fengjie and Wushan immigrants who contributed to the Three Gorges Project?

From 65438 to 0997, Chongqing became a municipality directly under the central government, and Wanxian City was assigned to Chongqing. Chongqing abolished Wanxian City and established Wanxian Immigrant Development Zone and Wanxian District. Wanzhou Immigration Development Zone is similar to the original Wanxian District, except that Chengkou and Liangping counties, which have no large-scale immigration tasks, are directly under the jurisdiction of Chongqing, Wanxian District is similar to the original Wanxian Municipal District, and three district-level administrative units, namely Longbao, Tiancheng and Wuqiao, are downgraded to administrative committees, which belong to Wanxian District. From 65438 to 0998, Wanxian District was renamed Wanzhou District, and Wanxian Immigrant Development Zone was renamed Wanzhou Immigrant Development Zone.

The frequent changes in administrative divisions are precisely because of the different needs for immigration work at different stages. This change has better implemented the relevant immigration policies and promoted the development of millions of Three Gorges immigrants in Wanzhou.

In 2000, Wanzhou Immigration Development Zone was abolished, and Zhongxian, Kaixian, Yunyang, Fengjie, Wushan and Wuxi, which were originally managed by Chongqing, were directly under the jurisdiction of Chongqing. Wanzhou's original three management committees were also renamed as immigrant development zones in 2000, and then abolished in 2005.

Wanzhou has completed a new transformation from material to spiritual. With the inundation of the old city, the new city has scientific and speculative planning from the beginning of construction, and the traditional city that originally followed the law of economic development has also been transformed into a special immigrant city. Wanzhou has begun to shoulder the important mission of being the second largest city in Chongqing and radiating northeast Chongqing.
