Plow, whose radical is "plow", means it is related to farming, so the basic definition of the word plow is to turn over the soil and loosen the soil. For example, in A Trip to Xue Yan, it is said that "cultivating the Tao and hunting for virtue" means that people must study hard if they want to achieve something.
