He also put forward a unique strategy of "treating the water and sand of the Yellow River as valuable resources", and personally conducted an experiment of "releasing silt for rice" in the 1960s, which was quickly successful and welcomed by the masses.

Comrade Lin Yishan was indifferent to fame and fortune all his life, taking the pursuit of the cause of the party and the people as the highest interest, devoted himself to the governance of the Yangtze River for decades, and gave up promotion opportunities many times. 1994 After retiring, Lin Yishan, who entered the advanced age, made a plan to transfer water to the west to solve the water shortage problem in the west of China, regardless of the difficulties of old age and blindness.
