I am going to Myanmar personally. Can I apply for a visa?

Myanmar opens ordinary visas, transit visas and electronic visas to Chinese citizens holding ordinary private passports, and opens visa on arrival to specific Chinese citizens holding ordinary private passports. Chinese passport holders must go to the visa section of the embassy or consulate in the corresponding consular district to apply for an ordinary visa or go to the official website of the Ministry of Immigration and Population of Myanmar to apply for an electronic visa.

Since September 18, 2016, Myanmar has officially canceled the tourist visa on arrival service. Passengers entering Myanmar need to apply for a visa in advance or apply for an online visa to enter Myanmar. Since Myanmar implemented online visa applications, it has allowed 42 countries or regions to apply for online visas (including China). You only need to log on to the website of the Myanmar embassy in the local area or the website of the Myanmar Immigration Bureau to apply. The application fee is US$50, and you can get a tourist visa valid for 28 days and valid for 3 months.

Myanmar visa application process:

1. Prepare visa application materials and provide corresponding documents according to different visa types;

Notes:

1. Myanmar e-visa currently only provides tourist visas, and business and other visa applications have not yet been opened. Business visas and the like can still be issued on arrival.

2. Please apply for ordinary visa and electronic visa at least one week in advance. If you need urgent business, please call the Myanmar Embassy in China for consultation.

3. Validity period: Valid within 90 days from the issuance of the visa.

4. Duration of stay: Ordinary visa, electronic visa, and visa on arrival are all 28 days.
