Fengshan story at the southern tip of douhe reservoir

Located in the northwest of Tangshan, there is a bus to arrive.

The reservoir is approximately triangular in shape, with Yanshan residual veins in the north and southeast and artificial dams in the southwest. The dam is about 2390 meters long. On one side of the dam are Tieniu and spillway, and on the other side is the prospect of Tangshan Power Plant. The water for power plants and Tangshan residents comes from douhe reservoir, and douhe reservoir is Tangshan's water tank. It is said that there are century-old soft-shelled turtles in the reservoir, and there are freshwater aquaculture in the reservoir.

The southern end of the reservoir is near Fengshan, which is about 870 meters in diameter. There is a "Little Great Wall" from the top of the mountain to the shallows of the reservoir, which is an artificial landscape. There is a pagoda on the mountainside and an antique building on the top of the mountain, which is said to be Kang Wang's tomb. Fengshan is closed to tourists now.

There are many legends in the reservoir area. According to the oral accounts of local residents, in ancient times, there was a man named Kang whose son was unfilial and always disobeyed his father's words. When Kang Wangye died, he wanted to be buried at the foot of the mountain ("Kang" and "chaff" are homophonic, and being buried at the top of the mountain will be "blown away") and buried with a sarcophagus. In order to achieve this goal, he deliberately said to his son, "When I die, bury me at the top of the mountain with an iron coffin." Unexpectedly, this is the only time my son obeyed, and buried him in an iron coffin (which will rust and destroy) at the top of the mountain.

1976 during the Tangshan earthquake, the Douhe dam was in danger, and it faced a big flood after the Tangshan earthquake. The officers and men of the People's Liberation Army rescued and repaired the dam in time, thus avoiding a greater tragedy.
