Why can’t people live in space?

Human beings cannot live in space permanently, mainly due to the following reasons:

1. Vacuum environment: Space is a completely vacuum environment without the protection of the atmosphere. There is not enough air, water, food and other necessities for survival. People cannot survive in space and need to use special space suits and equipment to maintain breathing and life.

2. High radiation environment: Radiation levels in space (including radiation from the sun, the Milky Way, and cosmic rays) are extremely high and can cause serious radiation damage to the human body. Daily protective measures cannot completely avoid this radiation.

3. Gravity-free state: On the surface of the earth, the human body is under the influence of gravity and can stand, walk, run, etc. In space, because there is no gravity, the human body can easily lose its center of gravity, leading to vision, balance and movement impairments, and even life-threatening consequences.

Therefore, even though humans have achieved short-term visits in space for the first time, they still need to overcome various problems to live in space, such as building more complete space survival equipment, establishing a space base, or finding Earth-like planets in outer space, etc.
