Westerners draw historical maps of China to see what is different from us

A few decades ago, European and American scholars lacked exchanges with Chinese scholars and did not come to China for practical inspections, so they unilaterally denied the existence of the Xia Dynasty. This early map of China still uses this outdated view and confuses the spheres of influence of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. The sphere of influence of the Shang Dynasty was mainly distributed in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, and it gradually penetrated into the lower reaches at the end of the dynasty.

The map of the Zhou Dynasty drawn by Americans did not distinguish between the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, nor did it mention the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and generally summarized the Zhou Empire. During the Western Zhou Dynasty, the sphere of influence had expanded to the Yangtze River Basin and the vicinity of Yanshan Mountain. During the Warring States Period, the two vassal states of Qin and Chu encompassed the entire Yangtze River Basin, and Yan and Zhao captured Hetao and Liaodong.

Qin and Chu have been at loggerheads on the Sichuan-Guizhou border for many years. The Jiangxi region was the hinterland of the Chu Kingdom in the late period. The Yue leaders in the Fujian region actively surrendered after the Qin Dynasty unified them. The Qin Dynasty immigrated hundreds of thousands to Guangdong, Guangxi and Northern Vietnam. , and also built five-foot roads in Yunnan and Guizhou, and various measures have firmly controlled these areas.
