The city named after flowers is Panzhihua. As the only city named after flowers in China, Panzhihua, located at the southernmost tip of Sichuan, enjoys the reputation that flowers are the city and the city is the flower. Jinsha River and Yalong River meet here, and Panzhihua is the closest point from Sichuan to South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Panzhihua City is located in the south-central part of Panxi Rift Valley, which belongs to the landform of eroded hills and valleys in Zhongshan. It has the characteristics of high mountains, deep valleys and staggered basins. The terrain inclines from northwest to southeast, and the mountains are near north and south, which is the south extension of the big snow mountain. The highest elevation point is located at the Dong Zi of Berlin Mountains and Rivers in Yanbian County (4 1 95.5m), and the lowest elevation point is located at Shizhuang, Pingdi Town, Renhe District (937m), with a relative elevation difference of 3,258.5m and a general relative elevation difference of11,500m-2,000m.

Panzhihua City belongs to the Yangtze River system with many rivers. There are 95 large and small rivers in the territory, belonging to Jinsha River system and Yalong River system, which meet at Yajiang Bridge. There are three tributaries: Anning River, Sanyuan River and Dahe River. Among them, there are 6 river basins with an area of more than 500 square kilometers; 100 km2 -26 km2; 50 km2-18 km2; Only 45 small rivers ranging from 5 square kilometers to 50 square kilometers directly flow into Jinsha River and Yalong River.
