The Origin and History of Qian Family
Peng Zu's son, Cui Fu, was a sergeant in the capital of the Western Zhou Dynasty. Cui Fu took "money" as his surname, so Peng and Qian were originally a family, and there is still a folk saying that "Peng and Qian are not separated". Since the capital of the Western Zhou Dynasty was in Haojing, Chuifu was bound to be an official in Beijing, so Qian also originated in Shaanxi.
In the pre-Qin period, Qian's surname was unclear. During the Qin and Han Dynasties, the surname Qian developed quietly in Xuzhou, Jiangsu. During the Three Kingdoms period, Qian had spread all over Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. During the Jin Dynasty, Jiangxi became another important base of Qian surname.
Before the Tang Dynasty, Qian had spread to the Central Plains and the north and south of the Yangtze River. The heyday of Qian's development was in the Tang and Song Dynasties, when Qian Liu proclaimed himself emperor in Lin 'an, that is, Wu Yueguo was established in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, and spread to five great masters. The descendants of Qian Liu were enfeoffed to various places for 86 years and soon multiplied in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
