Inverted Pique in Bengbu dialect means "joking, fooling people". Bengbu dialect is a transitional dialect between Jianghuai Mandarin and Zhongyuan Mandarin. According to field investigation, there are many dialect features in Jianghuai Mandarin in Bengbu and some streets and towns such as Huaiyuan and Wuhe under its jurisdiction. The sound flow of sentences is from strong to weak, and common words contain more dialects in northern Anhui. Under the influence of industrial and commercial development, a large number of jargon have been produced. Due to the developed traffic, buzzwords from Beijing and Shanghai spread quickly. The word formation and grammar of dialects are basically the same as those of Putonghua.

There are some differences in Bengbu dialect, mainly in initials and tones, and the finals are basically the same. From the city center to the surrounding areas, the more outward expansion, the greater the change. Fengyang in the east is adjacent to it, but it does not completely correspond to Mandarin. The west is bordered by Huaiyuan, and there are sometimes entering tones in spoken English. Adjacent to the ancient town in the north, the zero initial fricative sound is very strong.
