Ganling Town is the seat of Baojing County and the political, economic and cultural center of Baojing County. The town covers an area of 168 square kilometers, governs 14 administrative villages and 7 communities, and has a total population of more than 72,000. After the zoning adjustment in 2005, it is the largest township in Fengtan Reservoir Area of Baojing County, and the largest township with the largest population and area in Xiangxi Prefecture. Qianling Town is located in the north-central part of the east of Baojing County, bordering on Zejia Town and Guzhang Hexi Town in Yongshun County in the east, Yang Chao Township in the south, fuxing town in the west, and Purong Town and Wanmipo Town in the north. Total area 167 km2, with the highest elevation of 847m and the lowest elevation170m. It belongs to subtropical monsoon humid climate zone, with pleasant climate, abundant rainfall and distinct four seasons. The town governs 14 administrative villages with 73,000 people, including 27,000 agricultural people.
